Continuing on with our exciting partnership with Leinster Rugby Club, we were tasked with creating their 2016/2017 season ticket campaign. Leinster have become one of the most successful clubs in European Rugby and have a hugely loyal following. The RDS, and on bigger occasions the Aviva, have become a fortress for Leinster in recent years with the team rarely losing at home. The supporters play a big part in this success. It is vital that the club engage with these fans to renew their season tickets while also encouraging the casual fan to join them for a season.
With Leinster there is always a possibility that the team will win silverware. They are currently top of the PRO12 and in prime position to secure a home semi-final. But beyond results and trophies, there are always exciting on field stories that will engage with the fans. Our campaign centres around these stories. The winning, the losing, the near misses, the academy graduate scoring his first try, the ageing Stalwart making his final appearance. Every season has a story.
In the campaign we focused on three key players; Johnny Sexton, Garry Ringrose and Sean O’Brien. Each of these players have an engaging story that unfolded as the season progressed. Ringrose, for example, was playing Junior Rugby last season. He made his professional debut in September, scoring his first try in his second match shortly after. He has gone on to cement his place in the starting 15. Season ticket holders had a front row seat on his personal story. They watched him mature, watched him develop and watched him become the most talked about player in Irish Rugby.
Next season what stories can fans expect? Leo Cullen will be in his second year in charge, the much anticipated Robbie Henshaw will be joining the Leinster ranks and academy graduates Van der Flier and Peter Dooley could potentially be competing against Europe’s finest. The 2016/2017 season has all the ingredients to be Leinster’s best yet.
